Performing Arts Club Newsletter - April 12, 2024

Good Afternoon!  My first priority is to wish the cast and crew of "Broadway Treasures" an enthusiastic "Break a leg" and have fun!  You have all worked very hard and this weekend you will have the opportunity to show the SCA community what you have accomplished.  I hope all of our members are coming out to support our PAC friends!

Next up is our PAC General Meeting on Thursday, April 18 in the Morris /Nelson Room.  The plan is for the Last Ride Band to be playing when you arrive between 4:30 and 5:00.  Dinner, catered by Richard, will be served at 5:00.  The Desert Divas have a treat in store for us prior to our meeting that will commence at around 5:45.  As you will note when you receive the Agenda in the next few days, we will go a bit out of our usual order this meeting, with Ziona introducing us to our next Anthem Players' show, "Charlie Sees the Light," written by Tom Lee.  We will then continue with all of the important information you want to hear. Come to the meeting to see your PAC friends, eat some good food and hear about all of our upcoming events. And, one more special happening... Readers Playhouse will be meeting in the Morris/Nelson Room right after the General Meeting is adjourned.  Come stay a little while and get a taste of the fun they are having.

The Choraliers are busy preparing for their upcoming show, "Get Happy."  It is scheduled for May 23 at 7:00 in the Delaware Room.  Tickets are only $10 for what promises to be a fun time.  Please support the singers and special guests who have been practicing for months for the purpose of entertaining all of us.  Please support your fellow PAC members!

The Karaoke group will be meeting this month on the fourth Tuesday, April 24th. This change is for April only.  Please come to the Delaware Room from 1-3 to either participate or to be entertained by the participants.  If you know what you would like to sing, please let Vince know your selection by Sunday, April 21 so he can preload the program to make the process smoother.

The Storytellers have been on a little hiatus, but are now gearing up for their return.  Please come to see what they are all about.  Weather permitting, they will be meeting on Wednesday, May 1 at 6:30 on the North Lawn of Anthem Center.  Bring a lawn chair and enjoy!  (Meeting will be in the Greene Room if the weather does not cooperate.)

I know that it's a bit in advance, but mark your calendars for Friday, May 31 to come hear the Last Ride Band play on the North Lawn for the SCA community.  It is very exciting that they will be part of the summer series of Concerts on the Lawn!

As always, I hope I haven't forgotten anything.  Please let me know if I did, or if you have something new that you would like in the next Newsletter.

Thank you!

Willis
