Good morning! I was so happy to see such a great turnout for Tuesday's meeting. I hope everyone who came enjoyed the entertainment and food, as well as the opportunity to socialize and catch up on what's going on in the PAC. Thank you to everyone who stepped up to hold Leadership positions in 2025. And congratulations to the four winners of the 2024 President's Award: Samaria Graham, Ziona Friedlander, Richard Guaraldi and Vince McCann!
I also want to offer a hearty THANK YOU to Mary Richard who has been a tireless choreographer for PAC dance SIGs for as long as I have been involved with the Club. She is retiring from that role so that she can continue to pursue all of her other activities and interests! Keep having fun, Mary!
Susan Girard would like to remind everyone that Showstoppers will be undergoing a change beginning in January. She will be taking over the role of choreographer for the group. The SIG will now focus on dance techniques. As Susan indicates, "The group will explore the fundamental principles of dance and apply them toward heightened awareness of the body and its relationship to rhythm, energy and space. The group will explore the technique of multiple genres of dance." For more information, contact Susan at susan5005@hotmail.com or the incoming SIG Leader, Andrea Lennon at alennon315@gmail.com.
Karaoke will be exploring a new venture! SIG Leader Vince McCann and I met with the Restaurant Manager of the Yorktown Grill to pitch the idea of a monthly Karaoke Night. The response was enthusiastic. As a result, The Performing Arts Club and Yorktown Grill will be co-sponsoring (no cost involved for anyone) the first Karaoke night on Monday, February 3, from 4:00-6:00. Participants can select songs in advance by going to the Karaoke section of the PAC Website, or just choose your song that evening. Come join the fun as a listener or participant! Invite your friends for drinks, Happy Hour and music! If you have any questions, contact Vince at vintzinvegas2019@gmail.com. We hope to continue this on the first Monday of every month.
The Readers' Playhouse will begin preparations for their next hit show this Thursday. Come join the fun on November 21st at 5:30 in the Liberty Center. If you have an idea for a script, come pitch it! Contact Phil Schlaeger with any questions at pschlaeger@msn.com.
I think that's all I have for now. I will be sending out newsletters until the end of my term on December 31st. If you have anything you would like me to include in my next one, please let me know!
Thank you!
