Good afternoon! My weather app tells me it's 113 degrees as a write this. I'm glad I'm in air conditioning.
I have a few pieces of news and then I will give each of you an important, but simple, job to do.
Firstly, I want to thank Vaunetta for the years she has generously volunteered to write the PAC article each month in the Spirit. Vaunetta, you did the Club proud. She has now passed the torch to a new writer. Thank you to Meridee Joseph, who has been heading up our Marketing Committee, for taking this on. If there is any information you would like to have included in an upcoming Spirit article, please contact Meridee at meridee@outlook.com. Besides information, don't forget photos. They are worth a thousand words!
The second piece of news is that we have a new Webmaster, Holly Telford. Holly is new to Anthem and, therefore, our Club, but she has a wealth of experience. Holly was kind enough to send me her fascinating bio that is too extensive to include here in its entirety, but I will share some things, in no particular order, that I found most intriguing: Holly was a performer for Club Med in Florida. She moved to New York, studied all aspects of theater and created an award-winning youth community theater program for kids to learn leadership, performance, audition skills, etc. She started an eccomerce company in 1989 for a medical equipment distributorship, requiring her to learn to program a website. Holly is a writer of books, plays and musicals, and has worked as a Hollywood extra. Currently, Holly is the Director of Sales for the West at the Jelly Belly Candy Company! Thank you for volunteering to help our club, Holly, and I am sure many PAC members are looking forward to meeting you. Holly can be contacted at hjwilliams13@gmail.com.
Lastly, I am happy to announce that our Anthem Jazz dancers have a message to share: "Nicole Duffel's recent resignation from the PAC created a significant void for the Anthem Jazz SIG. While the group considers options for its future direction, the dancers are continuing to meet at the Liberty Center on Mondays and Saturdays at 3:00 for practice and peer instruction in technique. Anthem Jazz welcomes new members, regardless of dance experience. This is a great time to check us out - NO COMMITTMENT REQUIRED! For more information, contact Linda Molony at VegasLindaLou@gmail.com or call her at 702-355-8534."
Now it's time for my simple request. Linda Molony has been chosen by her fellow Anthem Jazz dancers to represent their SIG. For Linda to become a voting member of our Leadership Team, she must be elected by Membership. Therefore, I am asking all of you to email me your "Aye" or "Nay" vote at wadler21@gmail.com at your earliest convenience so we can make this happen. Thank you!!
That's it for now. The weather app now says it is 114 degrees!
Willis
